As we go from March madness to what is labeled as April madness by prephoopers.com. Coaches are running from gym to gym evaluating prospects in hopes to continue winning traditions of there respective programs. Some hopes to change the loosing culture that might have plagued them for the past season. Some coaches are at events looking for one or two missing pieces to bring them one or 2 more wins closer to post season. Whatever the reasons the coaches attend these events the players that have put in those extra hours chasing there dream usually have a chance to rise to the top. Prephoopers.com have identified some early risers some ranked and unranked. However the beauty about this is, all the rankings go out the window when you step on the floor. On the flips side, some of the ranked players have let some people know why they rank worthy by living up to there respective billings.
Unranked early live period performers who’s stock has risen.
Jordan Nwora 2017. 6’8 wing has let people know that they play ball in Buffalo New York. Early talks of being the best wing in New York State, fell on deaf ears simply because he resided in Buffalo. Little did they know he trained in NYC most of last summer with Nicholas Richards, Samson George and other NYC notables. Needless to say, he is no longer a secret. Currently averaging 14.3 ppg per game along with 10 rebounds a game in the Nike EYBL for the NY Rens has garnered the respect from numerous high majors. Throughout two sessions of play offers have poured in from USC, Rutgers, Marquette, Iona, DePaul and Xavier. Texas and Villanova have also expressed interest in Nwora according to sources. When the live period resumes, Jordan Nwora will remain on prephoopers.com watch lists.
Precious Achiwa 6″7 2019 prospect has been impressive early. The brother of former St Johns star God’s gift has had a solid live period thus far for new heights. Achiwa earned himself offers from St johns and VCU over the previous sessions. He will remain on prephoopers watch lists as well.
Greg Calixte 6’9 Center 2017 prospect.
Greg come to work in the first 2 sessions with the hard hat controlling the paint for the NY Rens. His efficient play has garnered him offers from DePaul, Iona and Hofstra in the space of 2 sessions. Those offers should multiply as the sessions continue.
Mitchell Robinson 6’10 2017 prospect.
Mitchell is averaging 4.9 blocks per game for team take over. His stock has risen and pretty much has every school in the country recruiting him. He is new on the prephoopers.com radar but has been impactful thus far controlling the paint. His decommittment from Texas A&M should open up plenty opportunities for him to pick and choose what program best suits his skill set.
Jermaine Samuels 6’6 wing Expressions Elite 2017 prospect. Jermaine is top 100 wing who had an up and down 2015 EYBL campaign. However this campaign he has performed at high level which has helped expression to a 4 win and 3 loss record thus far. Prephoopers.com notices his commitment to defending. Jermaine held Michael Porter to 9points in a loss to Mokan Elite. However, his ability to shut down high level wings did not go unnoticed to the coaches throughout the country. Jermaine has most of the Big East,ACC and the A10 recruiting him. If he continues to play hard and defend he will have to be considered one of the top wings coming out of the 2017 class.
Ranked player who turned up throughout the first 2 sessions
Hamadou Diallo 6’5 Wing from Putnam Science wowed the crowed with high level dunks, acrobatic finishes in the lane throughout the first 2 sessions. Duke and Kentucky quickly took notice and has jumped on his recruitment. He is currently number 9 ranked player in his class. His ranked positioning should skyrocket if he continues his stellar play this summer.
DeAndre Dayton 6″11 Center 2017 prospect has definitely lived up to his billing. Dayton has performed well throughout the early sessions and continues to show opposing centers why he is one of the top prospects in his class. He has double doubled throughout most of the games, while making his teammates better. His poise seems to separate him from others in his class. Mohammed Bamba 6’11 center PSA Cardinals. Bamba has performed at a high level thus. His 16 pts and 12 rebounds was huge in there victory over the NY Rens in the first session. Needless to say he was steady in Indianapolis as well. He is extremely light on his feet which allows him to get numerous offensive rebounds in an out of area. He also has great timing which makes him a great rim protector. Prephoopers.com will continue to update you on his play as well.
